July – If She Only Knew Before and Cambodia Video

I’ve looked at these pictures many times since our return from Cambodia. Whenever I look into the eyes of this dear woman I wonder why it took so long for her to hear the gospel of Jesus Christ. I think about how I could have responded earlier to God’s call to send the gospel to hurting people like her in the 10/40 Window. I’ve thought about how God could have transformed her and her family’s lives if she only heard about Jesus Christ earlier. I know we can’t turn back time — but knowing what I know now I certainly would have managed our mission work differently. If I knew then what I know now, I would have placed fewer efforts towards reached countries and more towards the unreached areas of the world we work in now.

She welcomes prayer from Pastor C.S.

Very few unreached people remain in the countries we ministered in before. I praise God for that! I praise God for the missionaries and indigenous Christian ministers who have worked so powerfully. Because of those workers, these nations don’t need much help anymore. The native people can finish the task of evangelizing their nations with a handful of strategic missionaries by their side.
Please take a minute and look at the charts we compiled with information from www.joshuaproject.net. Compare the progress of Guatemala and Honduras (where we used to work) to Cambodia and Thailand (two countries we work in now).
Amazing difference right?  This shows what nations we need to prioritize
God has given Message Ministries a mission to inspire American Christians to send the message of Jesus Christ to unreached people like the woman above— people who have never heard of Jesus Christ before. We want them to find the same hope that we’ve found in Jesus Christ. Will you help us?
By God’s grace and a great team of mission supporters we just sent off our first month of financial support for five indigenous Cambodian missionaries. These missionaries are planting churches in the unreached Cambodian villages we evangelized in June.
Thank you for your prayers and financial support which make it possible for us to reach the unreached!

Thank you for supporting our 2018 Vietnam youth camp! We originally planned to host the camp in the Central Highlands, but hosted at last year’s location instead. About 60 young people gathered for three days of worship, fellowship, and teaching by Jim, JJ and I. We chose the theme “ASCEND,” and we taught on our need to ASCEND in our relationship with the Lord and God’s call. During this camp, we were blessed to help baptize ten young people in the East China Sea!
Please pray for these disciples and their leaders as they serve the Lord in Vietnam. We pray that God uses our time of teaching and fellowship to continually inspire them to greater things with the Lord!
Multitudes of Cambodians plunge into eternity every year without ever hearing of Jesus Christ. Cambodia’s lost souls need Jesus more than ever! Will you join our rescue mission?
Message Ministries is partnering with Cambodia’s Christian leaders to reach its unreached millions. Through effective evangelism, long-term discipleship, church planting initiatives and Christian leadership training, we are reaching the unreached and training new disciples to do the same.
You can help us cover Cambodia with God’s great news! You can fully support a Cambodian church planter for only $150 a month? Or, if you would like to support one partially you can make a donation of $30 or more. We have sponsors for the five we committed to and have sent off their first months support. With your help we can add another 2 or 3 church planters/indigenous missionaries.
In the coming months we will share about the church planters we are supporting so you can pray for them and their ministries.

July 6, 2018 – Mission Accomplished – Cambodia Report

As I sit at my desk looking back on our time in Cambodia, I am overwhelmed at our great God who sent us as messengers to many unreached Cambodians. Now I miss our daily trips to those countryside villages! We felt thrilled each day as groups of unreached villagers greeted us, already waiting to receive free eyeglasses. Over 1,000 villagers received free glasses to help their physical sight, and hundreds of these also received spiritual sight through Jesus Christ!

About 100 Cambodians hearing the gospel for the first time!

Sometimes we’ve returned from missions disappointed that people did not respond as we expected. However, this time we left praising God for doing more than we envisioned! Over a two week period we drove dirt roads to many villages — most consisting of about 100-200 Buddhist farmers. We experienced the thrill of a lifetime as we watched God turn their darkness into light through the gospel! As we ministered, I often thought to myself, “this is a dream come true.” I know our Heavenly Father dreamed this trip and called us to go. Jesus died and rose again for these people and they needed to hear the truth of His plan of redemption.

Hundreds called on Jesus for salvation on this mission!

In Cambodia, along with Jim Randall, we were honored and thrilled to work with some of the most dedicated Christians on the planet. God knit our hearts together as we daily shared the Good News together in village after village. What amazing servants! The second week, a Chapel mission team from the Kadena Air Force base in Japan joined right in the work. God used them to spread the gospel through drama, music, testimony and the Word. They showed great work ethic and love for the Cambodian people.

Cambodia is the Southeast Asian country we will focus on the most in this season. God has opened incredible doors for us there. We will partner with a strong Cambodian ministry that has effective and humble leaders who we know and trust. These leaders have a great passion for the Lord and have opened their doors to us. We have committed to fully support five of their indigenous missionaries/pastors who will plant churches in the villages we visited. You can support one of these indigenous pastors for only $150 a month. 100% will go directly to the missionary. We welcome your support! We will share more ways you can help us to help them as we go forward.
Thank you for helping us reach the unreached,
Brian Weller

God is using Jim to make these leaders much more effective in their ministries to those who have not hear and to new converts to Jesus Christ.
Thank you, Message Ministries

SE ASIA MISSION by Brian Weller
Phil Kurpe and I riding in a Songteaw.

Phil Kurpe and I riding in a Songteaw.

On our recent trip to Southeast Asia, God continued to open my eyes to the spiritual and practical needs of the 10/40 Window. There is such a need for the gospel to go forth. These people must hear about Jesus Christ. There are so many people needing practical help to in that part of the world, from the desperately poor inhabitants of the slums of Pnomh Penh to the countless children being trafficked in all of these countries.

On our visit to these dark places, we were privileged and honored to work with Jim Randall once again. Jim has a great love and passion for the Lord and for helping indigenous pastors and missionaries reach their countries with the Gospel.
He took Phil Kurpe and I on a very busy missions adventure, in which we visited four countries – Thailand, Cambodia, Laos, and Myanmar. We traveled by plane, Tuk Tuk, songteaws, bus, and truck.
CAMBODIA  with James Sann

James Sann and I, in the Andong Village slum community in Pnomh Penh.

We started in Phnom Penh, Cambodia with James Sann. James took us to the slum communities where he ministers around the garbage dumps.
This was my third visit to the Steung Meanchey slum community and my first visit to the Andong Village slum community, which isn’t too far away. These areas are desperately poor and in dire need of the hope that can only come through Jesus Christ.
In the picture on the right you can see that people live over the stagnant water. When we were there it was dry season so the conditions weren’t all that bad, but it was still infested with disease-carrying mosquitoes. By Gods grace and the donations of our mission supporters we were able to provide mosquito nets for 200 more families. We want to help James continue to reach these dear people!
A village transformed by Jesus Christ
and the Power of God!
We visited the children’s home that we support in Laos and visited two others in Myanmar. We are not able to show pictures of those for security reasons. We also were able to meet up with a couple of the indigenous missionaries that we support on a monthly basis.
David S. of Free to Serve ministries has a very fruitful ministry of discipling and training indigenous pastors, evangelists, and missionaries which they send out into Laos, Thailand, Myanmar and China. We will be working with them more, and seeking to raise support for these indigenous missionaries. If you would like to help, you can fully support one of these missionary families for only $100 a month. We have seen their ministries firsthand and they are doing some amazing work. While with David we visited a village outside of Chiang Rai, Thailand that they’ve reached with the Gospel. They went and preached Jesus, prayed for the sick, and the sick were healed. In response to that, the witch doctor committed his life to the Lord and others followed. They have established a local church there and sent in one of their missionary pastors to disciple the people there. Our hope is to help them build a building that could act as a meeting place for the church and a home for the Thai missionary pastor.
The cost would be about $4500. Please write us if you would like to help with that need.
Human Trafficking on the Border
2016 SE Asia - Message Ministries 267

We had the opportunity to visit Mae Sot, Thailand which is right on the border of Myanmar (Burma). We met with Lana V. of Life Impact International, a ministry she started that rescues children and youth from human trafficking. She has an amazing story of faith and courage and is an inspiration to be around. She took us to a location on the border of Thailand and Myanmar where a lot of human trafficking takes place. My heart was broken to hear first hand stories of what was going on there.
Later that day, we met many children, youth and young adults who have been rescued from human trafficking by Lana and this very amazing ministry. What really touched my heart about this ministry is that their lives have been transformed by the Love of God. They aren’t just being rescued out of something – they are being rescued into the loving arms of their Heavenly Father and the Lord Jesus Christ. That night, as we ministered to the children, youth and young adults, I didn’t see broken people in need of a transformation in front of me. I saw a group that had been transformed by God’s love. I truly was blessed and amazed! The fruit of this ministry was obvious.
They were sitting right in front of us.

I believe we will be working more with Life Impact Intl. in the future. We had an awesome time ministering to the youth, although going through two translators was something I will need to get used to in the future. They translated from English to Thai, and from Thai to Burmese. I was pleasantly surprised that some of the Burmese youth were quoting the scriptures out loud from memory as they were being read by the translator. Like us, this ministry desires to disciple and send youth and young adults out to the neighboring nations with the gospel. Please pray for them.
While we were there Jim Randall trained their staff of 54. This ministry is growing and is looking for ways to be more fruitful and to prepare for growth. Jim is gifted at helping people and ministries get to the next level. He actually returned a week after we left to do more training.
Corazones en Fuego Discipleship Group – Leadership Team
The 2016 Corazones en Fuego leadership team

The whole ministry in Peru is strong and going forward at a fast pace under the leadership of a great group of leaders. They are of one heart and are in constant communication with each other and our home office.

We are all excited to report that our Corazones en Fuego (Hearts on Fire) Discipleship Training Ministry is back up and running again in Peru. These youth and youth leaders come from some of the churches that we work with and they are being trained to help reach their nation with the gospel of Jesus Christ. They are also being trained to help train other young leaders. We believe this ministry is going to grow and be stronger than ever before. Pastor Jose and Amanda Amaya started CEF many years ago in their home and are leading it once again. We are expecting exciting things from these youth and leaders in the next year and in the years to come. Please pray for the Corazones en Fuego group.
Brian Weller and I with a Thai Village Pastor

Hello from Southeast Asia.

I have been very busy for the past couple of months. I have been in Cambodia three times, in Laos and Myanmar once, northern and western Thailand twice each. I have spent little time in Chiang Mai.

I had to leave the country before the first of the year to re-enter Thailand so that I could apply for a new Retirement Visa. After two days of red tape, I received a three-month visa. I will need to re-apply next month and will be given a one-year visa. I will also need to buy another multiple re-entry permit. The visa and re-entry permit cost around $300. It’s all part of the cost of doing the Lord’s work.

I was in Cambodia and northern Thailand doing pastor training for national pastors. They have no time for formal Bible School so this is the best way for them to learn the Bible and become more effective for the Kingdom of God. In Thailand, they come mostly from Myanmar and Laos. It takes time when you have multiple interpreters. In Cambodia, some of the pastors are illiterate so they have to listen carefully. It is interesting to watch them listen. Pol Pot killed all the educated people in Cambodia in the mid to late 1970’s so for a generation after that, there were almost no teachers.
I will return to Vietnam to do more pastor training for a week beginning on 14 March. I will meet with the pastor who has translated my leadership booklets and arrange for printing. A missionary has already committed to buy 500 of each title. These booklets will help to multiply the lessons I teach and raise up more effective leaders. I will either sell the booklets at cost, to help pay for the next printing, or just give them away. If you would like to help with the printing cost, please let me know.
Teaching at a Burmese Church.
I was in Western Thailand twice in the past few weeks at Life Impact International. They have a ministry that rescues children from prostitution and slavery along the border with Myanmar. Tribal children are often sold because their parents can’t care for them. Some are drug addicts and sell their kids for a few dollars for more drugs. I went to take Brian Weller to minister to the kids there and they got me to do some staff training while I was there. The leader immediately asked me to come back for a week. I was with them all last week and will go again soon to develop a leadership training program. They have a staff of 54 people, from Burma and Thailand. God has given the leader, Lana Vasquez, great favor with the government. She has the same authority as the police to go into any place on the Thai side of the border to rescue children who are being sold and used. She is the only non-Thai person with that kind of authority. The kids at her facility are full of life as the healing power of God transforms their lives through the ministry received there. I have seen LOTS of children’s homes in this part of the world and life Impact has a program worth imitating. Lana’s work is so successful that she has been asked to go to Brazil to set up some homes there. She wants her staff well trained before she thinks about going.
I will return to the US in May for the birth of Stephanie’s second child, a boy this time. I fill the role that a mom usually fills because her mother died in 1999. I will look after her and the family for a couple of weeks till she is up to it herself. I will go to Texas and Alabama to visit family and friends there. I have been asked to go to Colorado Springs meet people at a Missions Conference. It would be really beneficial in making connections for BAM Nigeria. We just had a conference call yesterday with people from Asia, Africa and the US planning for projects in Nigeria and a BAM Conference in October.

Thanks for praying for me and for supporting me so that I can expand the Kingdom of God through training and mentoring leaders in Asia and Africa. Honestly, If I had had this kind of training 20 years ago, I would have been much more effective. One person says it is like the difference between a hammer and a nail gun. I do lots of training here in Thailand as well as coaching and mentoring leaders locally as well as via Skype. Thanks for supporting me financially so that I can help them do what God has asked them to do. Every bit helps because I am doing LOTS more travel. Having been a missionary most of my life, my SSI check is small but it covers my living expenses. Missions donations are all used for travel expenses, training materials and ministry expenses. Also, please pray for continued good health.

God Bless, Jim

November 2015

A Time of Thankfulness BANNER

Every year at this time, I like to look back at all that the Lord has done, and let out a resounding “THANK YOU LORD!” A life dedicated to world missions is definitely full of adventure – and I’m not just talking about missionary adventures to places like Peru, Southeast Asia and India. I am talking about the day to day adventures, like praying and trusting the Lord to meet all the needs associated with a World Missions Organization. Sometimes that can be a pretty scary endeavor! Every day I sit at my desk to stop and pray before doing anything. I ask the Lord to send His help to accomplish His will and His purposes, and to lead and guide us into what He specifically wants us to do.

  • I pray and think about the countless people who are counting on us to do what we have committed to do for them. They too are trusting God.
  • I pray and think about the children and leaders of the Loaves and Fishes Feeding Centers we support monthly in Peru.
  • I pray and think about the Able Hands Vocational Training Center in Peru.
  • I pray and think about the children and leaders in the Orphanages & Children’s Homes that we support with your help.
  • I pray and think about the indigenous leaders we support so they can reach their countries with the gospel of Jesus Christ.
  • I pray and think about James Sann’s ministry to the people in the slums of Cambodia.
  • I pray and think about Jim Randall living alone in Southeast Asia in his retirement years to get the gospel to the unreached.
  • I pray and think about the pastors and leaders we work with in Peru who work tirelessly to serve God and people.
  • I pray and think about my wife and family who have given much to help answer the call God has placed on my life.
  • I pray and think about our mission supporters who have trusted us to be faithful with God’s resources and have joined us in fulfilling His Great Commission. They play giant part in what we do.

The people I’ve met and the things I’ve seen on the mission fields propel me forward. The looks on the faces of the people I’ve encountered in places like the Stung Meanchey slums in Cambodia sweep through my mind, awakening me to His love for those born into a life of poverty and spiritual darkness. It is not their fault! But it will partially be my fault and our fault if they don’t get to hear about the spiritual safety found in Jesus Christ. I cannot, and we cannot just brush it off and hope someone else will step forward to get the work done that Jesus has called us to do. Friends, this is what we are about, getting the hope, the help and the love of Jesus to people.

Time seems to be getting short as we observe all the things going on in the world. How would we feel if when the Lord returns, He found us in an apathetic spiritual slumber? If the main thing that mattered to us was our own comfort, our own entertainment, and our own needs? What a shame it would be to have to stand before The Lord and realize we wasted much of our lives on ourselves. God have mercy on us! God have mercy on me! God show us what you want to do in us and through us! We’re here for you!!

Brothers and sisters, God has called us to be the Light of the world and to the world. We are to be the salt of the earth! We are to be the ambassadors of Jesus Christ to the lost and dying! We are to be His soldiers, going forth with the sword of the Spirit – the Word of God in our hands. Let’s be thankful that the Lord entrusted us with His call. Let’s rise up and do what God wants! Let’s put our own plans on the altar and let the fire of God consume us with His love, His passions and His purposes. Let’s be thankful that God is willing to use us to rescue the widows and orphans, to feed the poor, and to give sight to the spiritually blind of the world. Let’s continue to count the cost, and rise up and do even more than we have been doing. God will lead us and provide for us. All we have to do is surrender to His will and His ways.

John 9:4 “I must work the works of Him who sent Me while it is day; the night is coming when no one can work.”
In His Service,  Brian

2015 October - Myanmar Flood Relief
2015 Myanmar Flood ReliefSpecial thanks to our generous supporters who made it possible for us to send help to the flood victims in Myanmar, where we support Pastor Jayae full time as an indigenous missionary and pastor.
Pastor Jayae and David S. visited the Chief of the village of Wanlon and the Chief selected the most needy families from amongst the Shan people affected by the floods. They gave them some much needed help at this terrible time and Pastor Jayae and Abel shared the gospel with the people as they gave your gifts in the name of the Lord Jesus. Thank you for your help
2015 October - Cambodia Motorcycle
2015 October - Sann MotorcycleJames Sann now has the motorcycle he has been praying for, which will help him reach more people with the Gospel.  Last month, I was putting together a video to ask for help with this need. In the middle of that process, I ran into some dear friends of the ministry at a local restaurant.  They asked how much we needed to purchase the motorcycle.  I said “We need $2,000”, and they said they would give it. By the time I returned to our office they had already donated it online! We are so thankful for generous people who help us reach out to people and countries in need. James is a Cambodian reaching his own people with the gospel and we are honored help SEND him OUT!
2015 October - Peru Prefab Church
Valle Verde Peru Mission Team - PREFAB Church in ChulcanoPastor Jose & Amanda Amaya and their team from the “Cristo es el Camino” church in Valle Verde, Peru raised their own funds in Peru so they could GO to the northern part of Peru to minister the gospel of Jesus.
The team went to Chulcano where they ministered to children, gave gifts, did an eyeglass clinic outreach, an evangelistic outreach and built this prefab church! Our part was to provide the funds for the eyeglasses and for the prefab materials.
Thank you for your help!
2015 October - PERU VTC
2015 October - Able Hands VTCMarcos Zuniga Venegas leads the Able Hands VTC in Angamos, Peru. He amazes us with his passion for the Lord and for people.
The picture is of the new group of students who signed up to study electrical, carpentry, melamine and more at the Manos Habiles Centro Vocational. We support him and the center on a monthly basis, and are always blessed to see what God does through the training.
Please pray for Marcos Venegas and the students as the new set of classes begins.
2015 October - ASIA AFRICA Jim Randall Prayer
Southeast-Asia-map1We were blessed to have Jim Randall visit our home in Florida for a few days.  Before arriving in Florida, Jim spent a month ministering in Nigeria training Christian leaders and helping them to hear the call to GO to other nations. At 69 years old Jim is still dedicated to GO, teach and train others until the Lord calls him home.
We are Jim’s missions sending agency and welcome your support on his behalf. He is back in Thailand doing what he does best – serving the Lord and training others to know God and to make Him known!  Please pray for him, he truly needs our support and our prayers.  Thank you!

2015 October 10 40 Window Prayer
Please continue to pray for us as we take steps of faith to reach into 10-40+windowthe 10/40 window.  Last week we were down to $1,300 in our ministry bank account.  The Lord clearly instructed us to send $1,000 of that to the orphanage in Laos and the indigenous missionaries that we support there.  His words were clear:  “They need it now.”  We sent it and began to trust the Lord for other needs.  A few days later a check came in the mail for $3,000 from one of our donors, who was clearly hearing from the Lord.  Gloria a Dios!  Please pray and trust the Lord with us as we dedicate ourselves to walk by faith and not by sight to do our part in fulfilling the Great Commission!

February 2015

In Remembrance of Me Christian Website Banner
I am back in the USA and trying to process all God allowed Ron Bouvier and I to see. We met some amazing people on our mission to Southeast Asia with Jim Randall. We visited Thailand, Myanmar, Laos and Cambodia. Instead of writing a report of the trip, I decided to post something that I wrote on the trip, which best expresses what is on my heart right now.
Day #7 – Thailand
Would you please pray for wisdom and provision? I have been praying and seeking the Lord for His direction in regards to what our response should be to the needs (spiritual and material) that we have seen in Southeast Asia. The smiles of the children at the children’s homes we’ve visited flash through my mind, bringing both smiles and tears. The lost and hopeless look on the faces of people on the streets are continually streaming through my mind. I feel an urging to tell them about Jesus.
We can’t just walk away and do nothing! We can’t leave here without doing all that we can to bring the light of the gospel to these darkened nations. They have so little of the light of the gospel of Jesus. To walk away and do nothing would be spiritual treason toward our Heavenly Father, our Lord Jesus Christ, and His’ Great Commission to reach the world that Jesus loves, and gave His life for.

Honestly, my brothers and sisters, my heart aches over all that I’m seeing, and a lot of what needs to be done seems impossible. Yet, I know that all things are possible to him who believes. Will you pray and believe with me? We aren’t just here to see! We know that with the seeing comes a divine edict to do something. By faith we can and will do it!

We all must go beyond just believing God to meet our own needs, and believing God to bring more comfort to our already comfortable “world”. We must stop spending so much time asking God for more blessings just for ourselves. We must open our eyes, look on the unharvested fields of the world, and see how bright white and ready they are for harvesting.

Let’s flee from the desire to build our own personal kingdoms, and let’s work with all our might for the Kingdom that will never end. God is counting on each and every one of us to do our part! If we will seek first the Kingdom of God, we will be seeking Gods will, and not only will we be able to accept the dismantling of our own personal Kingdoms, but we will embrace it for the sake of a Kingdom that is eternal. Then our focus will be to know God and to make Him known! The two are inseparable. Can I truly know God intimately, yet refuse to help proclaim His name boldly, especially to those who have never heard it? We do this by either going, sending others in our place or both.
Only 1% percent of the people here know Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior. Approximately 85% have never heard the gospel. The indigenous leaders we have met here and in India are ready to go! Let’s help them! Let’s be their senders! Let’s all do something! To not do something is selfish and self centered. Isn’t it? I may be offending some by now, but I do it in the hope that others will be motivated and perhaps convicted by the Holy Spirit of God. He is the one who leads the army of God, as we reach into these bastions of darkness, where the devil has held the lost in chains for centuries, while we sit “In a land flooded with light”, as Falconer said. Are you a pastor or leader? Are you holding back the people you lead from fulfilling God’s great commission to reach the whole world? If so, it is time to repent. It’s not too late! God’s army is going forth! You can be used to lead God’s people out of spiritual slumber and into the great call to worldwide evangelism. Let go of the vision that sees no further than your own family, church family, country, continent or hemisphere. Some of you have read this far and I thank you for hearing what is on my heart. My goal is not to bring us into guilt and condemnation, but to help us to find freedom from the prisons we have built for ourselves. There is so much more that God wants to do in us and through us. My prayer is that we will all cry out to God with the words of Isaiah 6 “Here I am Lord, Send me”.

Let’s work together to fulfill the Great Commission of God, who loves the whole world, and wants them to know the truth that is only found in Jesus.

Ways you can help with the
ongoing ministry in Southeast Asia:
  • First and foremost, pray, pray, and pray! That is always first and foremost and God always makes a way, when His people humbly and confidently pray for His help! Then be faithful to respond as God leads. He may just lead you to pray, or He may ask you to do something tangible as well.If you would like to help you can give towards one of the following needs:
  • #1 – We are arranging for the writing of gospel tracts by indigenous pastors and missionaries of countries we have visited. You can financially support the printing of these materials. They will be distributed to those that can read in these countries. Those who can read can tell others! These materials will be provided to indigenous ministries for free to give out in their countries. We are starting with Cambodia and Thailand.
  • #2 – You can support an indigenous pastor or missionary to Myanmar or Laos through the ministry led by David S. and FTS for $80 a month. They are going into unreached villages to reach and teach the people about Jesus Christ. They are planting churches in many villages.
  • #3 – You can help Jim Randall to pay for indigenous leaders to come to the Bible Training schools that he will be teaching with his missionary friend Scott. They do these throughout the year for a week at a time. It only costs $10 for an indigenous pastor/missionary to attend. Jim is preparing to do two in Vietnam in March. They need a total of $1,500 to cover the cost of 50 in Hanoi and 100 in Saigon. Message Ministries has already committed to help, but your designated gift would help greatly.
  • #4 – You can send support to the orphanage/children’s home in Laos that we are going to help. Running the orphanage costs $600 a month.
  • #5 – Help Cambodian James S. with transportation to the villages outside of Pnomh Penh, Cambodia, including the one we visited on our trip. Your financial support will also help him to get to the people in the slums around the garbage dumps of Pnomh Penh. He could get a lot more done with a motorcycle. Right now, he either travels on a bicycle or pays for public transportation. The cost for a motorcycle is $2,500.
To help with these needs, please visit the donate link on the right side of this page.  Thank you!

000 Christmas-Blessing-Project-Update
We sincerely thank you for helping us bless many children in Peru and India at Christmas.
By the grace of God, and your financial support we were able to provide gifts for children in 17 different locations in Peru. These included the 11 Loaves and Fishes Feeding Ministries that we support on a monthly basis. The two pictures on on the bottom right are from the Mercy Children’s Home in Amritsar, India where your donations provided children with a new set of clothes and shoes. We were blessed to be able to help Living Hope Ministries with this need.
I don’t know about you, but when I look at pictures like these, I am even more motivated to keep doing what we are doing! How about you? I believe God’s smile is bigger than the ones on these children faces, and I like when God smile’s!

2015 Corazones en Fuego Team - Copy
Hello my friends! Please pray for our Corazones en Fuego (Hearts on Fire) outreaches and events. Our first summer youth retreat is from January 29-31.

Our Mission trip to Ica City, which is 5 hours south of Lima, will be February 13 – 16. We will preach the gospel through eyeglass clinics, dramas, music, door to door evangelism and testimonies. Please pray for us because we need 100 assistants and right now we have only 70.

Also please pray for God’s provision for the trip. We are working hard and trusting the Lord!

000 Southeast-Asia-Mission-Trip
At the end of January I will be heading back to Southeast Asia with my friend Ron Bouvier. Ron has been on a few trips with us to Peru and is one of our ministry board advisors. Ron and I will meet up with Jim Randall in Bangkok, Thailand and make visits to other Southeast Asian countries. The majority of this part of the world is unreached with the gospel. Our goal is to come alongside indigenous leaders to help them further their ministries, much like we have done in Peru.
Southeast Asia has a population of 625 million and comprises 11 countries. Over half of the population, or 316 million people have never heard about Jesus Christ. Our job is to help them hear for the first time! It was Carl Henry who said “The gospel is only good news if it gets there in time.” Thank you for helping us to get it there on time!
Please pray for us as we GO. We are asking for God’s wisdom, divine appointments, traveling mercies, and provisions to meet the needs we encounter along the way.
Please continue to pray for Jim Randall who joyfully spends his “retirement” years in this very needy part of the world, helping to reach the unreached, by training indigenous leaders to be missionaries and pastors to their own people.

From Everlasting to Everlasting Church Web Banner
I have been reading the life story of Hudson Taylor, a missionary to China who spent 51 years ministering to the people there. Through his efforts multitudes were reached with the gospel of Jesus Christ.

Thank you for standing with us in 2014 and please pray for us and with us as we step into 2015 with an even greater sense of purpose and destiny.  In our next newsletter, we will include a full report of all that God allowed us to do together in 2014.  Here are  a few things I gleaned from the writings of Hudson Taylor which inspire us as we look forward.

“You must go forward on your knees.”

“God uses men who are weak and feeble enough to lean on him.”

“God’s work done in God’s way will never lack God’s supplies.”

“The Great Commission is not an option to be considered; it is a command to be obeyed.”

“I have found that there are three stages in every great work of God: first, it is impossible, then it is difficult, then it is done.”

“I used to ask God to help me. Then I asked if I might help Him. I ended up by asking Him to do His work through me.”

“Many Christians estimate difficulties in the light of their own resources, and thus attempt little and often fail in the little they attempt. All God’s giants have been weak men who did great things for God because they reckoned on His power and presence with them.”

“Oh, how it must grieve the heart of God when He sees His children indifferent to the needs of that wide world for which His beloved, His only begotten SON died!”

Together we are making a difference in the lives of those that Jesus died for.  Please continue to pray with us and stand with us as we press forward into His purposes and plans.

I just read a quote from William Carey, the Father of the Modern Missions Movement.  He wrote to one of his supporters in England stating.  “I will go into the pit – if you will hold the rope!”  While I don’t personally feel I am in the pit, others in America wonder how I can bear living here.  I have Asia grace, the enabling ability to do what God has called me to do.  I love it!!!  Thank you for holding the rope making it possible for me to be here serving our God in places that are so very un-Christian.
It’s been a while since I wrote a newsletter because I have been busy doing the same old things, training and personal mentoring of key leaders.  I usually teach FREE seminars focusing on leadership skills for missionaries here in South East Asia, but also train and connect them with Business As Missions opportunities so they can earn money while doing the work of the ministry.  However, this last month, I had two new things happen in my life.
The first thing was that I went to China.  This was the fulfillment of a promise God made to me 40 years ago while China was closed to Americans.  I stayed at the guest house of an orphanage that cares for handicapped children, mostly babies with deformities.  Often they only need surgery to repair their abnormalities.  Handicapped children are usually given up because of the “one child” policy in China and are adopted to families, mostly in the US.
The word has gotten out and I meet with someone almost every day here in Chiang Mai.  I help leaders become more productive in their ministry through training them how to organize and train their people so the leader can be free to expand their ministry.  Ministries are growing but many of the leaders are still doing everything themselves and often burn out.  I am beginning to see leaders change and make the transition to train their people to do what they themselves have been doing.  Growth without change is impossible.  Significant growth without significant change is impossible.
2014 Cambodia - November - Chhuk Group
I went to south Cambodia a few weeks ago to teach leadership skills to about 50 pastors from the Vietnam border area.  If we don’t train others to lead, we will not see the Kingdom of God grow.
In II Timothy 2:2, the Apostle Paul told Timothy to train faithful men who would also train others.  Without leaders, the Kingdom of God will not grow.  Ephesians 4:11-12 says that the purpose of leadership is to train the saints to do the work of the ministry.  This principle of God was used by the Apostles to establish the church.  Paul traveled about teaching and leaving leaders behind in every city.  Can we do less?
2014 Cambodia - November - Chhuk

Two out of every three people who have not heard the Gospel live within one thousand miles of Chiang Mai, Thailand where I live.  According to Romans 10:13-15 there are three categories of people in the whole world; Hearers, preachers and senders.  In the world there are only hearers but in the church there are only preachers and senders.  Which are you; a preacher or a sender?  If you are not preaching, you should be sending through prayer and/or finances.
I am here on your behalf.  Would you please pray for me?  If you would like to help with travel and training expenses, I welcome your support.  I have enough for personal living expenses but traveling to train native pastors can be expensive.

  • Please pray for the following:
    1.  God’s favor and wisdom as I help ministries throughout this part of the world.
    2.  God’s financial provision for me to travel and train struggling/growing leaders and ministries.  There are now more requests for help than I can fulfill without additional finances.  Travel cost are what I need the most.  The people
I help are among the least and the last in God’s kingdom.
    3.  Open doors to share during my trip back to the US in December.
    4.  Clear direction and open doors for this next year so I can fulfill my call to help leaders grow.
    5.  It gets lonely here though I am busy.  Please pray for me to keep focused on God’s call to this part of the world.
Valor Men's Retreat Ministry Website Banner
Since August, the youth from our missions group, Corazones en Fuego, have led two youth retreats! One was in August, and another was in October. More youth came to these camps than have come in the past. Before coming to the camp, most of the attending teens weren’t in a good relationship with God, nor were they attending church. As usual, on the first day of ministry, the attending teens weren’t too open to receive the Word.
2014 - November - Peru Youth Retreat
But over the week God really did show up, and change their lives. It was wonderful to see the teens being touched by God. We saw that the teens had a new desire to change, and to give their lives to God, following Him no matter what. Most of them had wrong ideas in their mind. Some thought that no one could change them. Others thought that there was no solution to their problems. Still, others were convinced that because they had neglected a relationship with God, God wouldn’t help them if they asked. The attending teens were looking for answers in places that answers couldn’t be found. But some of the teens from Corazones en Fuego have had those exact same questions and thoughts in the past, so they were able to counsel the attending teens, by sharing the Word of God, and their testimonies. They were able to share with them that God did change their lives, that God is more than able to help them, and that God actually wants to help them. Those little moments of testimony can change a young person’s life. The youth went back home with renewed hearts. This was only possible because of the amazing Power of God!
2014 - November - Pisco Prefab Home
In mid-November we took a mission trip to Pisco with some of the youth from Corazones en Fuego. There, we built a prefab home for a very poor family that serves at Pastor Carlos Llaja’s church. The family consisted of Jose, Cindy, and their two children, Nazareth (10) and Guadalupe (4).  There is a lot of delinquency in the area where they live, so the house that they were living in was not safe for their children. It was so touching to see the joy on Jose and Cindy’s faces when the construction of the new house was completed. They were so excited and thankful to God to have a ‘real house’, though it wouldn’t seem like a ‘real house’ to any of us. Being part of this project showed us again how great a love God has for us, that even when we disobey Him, He sometimes chooses to bless us. This house was just a little proof of that.
2014 - November - Eyeglass Clinic Outreach 1

At the end of November we held an eyeglass clinic in Chorrillos.  We had the opportunity to share the Word of God with many people! We prayed for all the needs that they had (healing, jobs, etc). Some of them even gave their hearts to the Lord! It was a big opportunity to help people by giving them the truth of The Word of God…that if they will open their hearts to Him, He will work in them.

Come with Thanksgiving Christian Web Banner

During this Thanksgiving season we are extremely thankful for so many things at Message Ministries and Missions! We are truly thankful and humbled by God’s faithfulness as we look at all He does on a regular basis to make a way where there seems to be no way. We know that all good things come from His hands, and for that reason, we are committed to work passionately for the glory of God. Gloria a Dios! Today, I’m reminiscing about the many people God has allowed us to help together. I am specifically thinking about:
* The many individuals who have given their hearts to the Lord.
* The many children who received meals in Jesus’ name through the Loaves and Fishes Feeding Ministries.
* The many families whose lives were changed when they received a prefabricated home through the Give a Home Project.
* The many indigenous pastors and leaders who have received ministry and training through the Hearts on Fire Bible School.
* The many mission team members who went on mission trips and were used by God to make an impact on the mission field.
This Thanksgiving, I am also thinking about the many things we are thankful for as individuals and as a ministry!
* We are thankful to God for His gift of eternal life, His love, His mercy, His grace, and His power.
* We are thankful that God has given us His Holy Spirit to empower us as we GO.
* We are thankful for the Word of God that lights our way and helps to make our paths straight.
* We are thankful for you and the sacrifices you make to help us fulfill God’s Great Commission.
* We are thankful for the churches who partner with us to proclaim His Gospel, feed the poor, and care for the orphans.
* We are thankful for the indigenous pastors, leaders, and missionaries who do the hard work on a daily basis.
* We are thankful for our families who love and support us in this divine call as missionary workers.
* We are thankful to God that He honors the steps of faith we all must take as we seek to serve Him.
Our prayer is that we learn to be thankful and continue to give our all to answer God’s call in our lives. One day, He will return and we will not be able to do what we can do now! May we all live, give, care, and share what God has given us. May we all learn to be centered on His purposes and plans and not our own. If we do, when He returns, we will hear Him say, “’Well done, good and faithful servant! You have been faithful with a few things; I will put you in charge of many things. Come and share your master’s happiness!”
Be blessed today and always,  Brian Weller

*  You will notice a couple different things in this months newsletter.  First, we are set up with non-profit postage which will save a lot of money.  The second thing is we have become wholesale printers so that we can print our own materials at wholesale prices.  Our newsletters will not look as “glossy” as they did before, but printing this way will help us to be thrifty with the donations we receive.
*  Many have asked for a way to set up ongoing donations on our website.  We now have that option at www.messagemissions.com/donations.
* Our 2015 Message Ministries – Missions Quotes Calendars are now available.  If you would like one or more please let us know.
